Damp, damaged and old caravans bought
Other buyers walk away from damp or damaged caravans. We don't. Tell us what's wrong, send a few photos, and we'll give you an honest price for it as it is.
- Damp, soft floors and delamination
- Accident and storm damage
- Old caravans well past their best
- No repairs needed, free UK-wide collection
We buy caravans other buyers turn away
Damp is the most common reason caravans are hard to sell. Private buyers walk away as soon as they see a damp meter reading, and many dealers won’t take damp caravans in part-exchange at all. The same goes for older caravans and anything with damage.
At Aki Caravan Buyers, we buy them anyway. We price the problem in honestly, collect the caravan for free, and handle the repairs ourselves. You don’t need to fix, clean or empty anything first.
Problems we buy caravans with
| Problem | Do we buy it? |
|---|---|
| High damp readings | Yes |
| Soft floors or spongy walls | Yes |
| Delamination or bubbling panels | Yes |
| Leaking roof lights or windows | Yes |
| Accident or storm damage | Yes |
| Failed or overdue habitation check | Yes |
| Broken appliances (fridge, heater, water pump) | Yes |
| No paperwork | Usually, after an ownership check |
| Very old caravans | Yes, if they can be moved safely |
Is it worth repairing damp before selling?
In most cases, no. Damp repairs mean stripping out walls or floors, and professional work often costs more than the extra value it adds. DIY repairs can make things worse if the leak isn’t found and sealed first. If you do want a repair quote, use a workshop in the Approved Workshop Scheme or one approved by the NCC.
Selling as seen is usually the better deal: you get a fair price now, with no repair bills and no risk. Our full guide to selling a damp caravan explains the options in more detail.
How to get a price for a damp or damaged caravan
- Fill in the quick form on this page, choosing “Damaged / project” for condition if that fits.
- Send photos on WhatsApp: the outside, the inside, and close-ups of any damp or damage.
- Tell us what you know: damp readings, where the leaks are, and how it happened.
- Get an honest offer, usually the same day, with no obligation.
The more you tell us up front, the more accurate the offer, and the less chance of surprises on collection day.
Old caravans welcome
Got a caravan from the 1990s or 2000s that’s been sitting on the drive for years? We still want to hear about it. Older caravans can be worth more than you’d think for parts, repairs or renovation. If it can be moved safely, we’ll make you an offer.

Frequently asked questions
Can I sell a caravan with damp?
Yes. We buy caravans with any level of damp, from a few high readings to soft floors and rotten panels. Damp lowers the value, but it doesn't stop a sale. Tell us where the damp is and we'll price it honestly.
Should I fix the damp before selling my caravan?
Usually not. Professional damp repairs often cost more than they add to the price. Selling as seen to a buyer who handles repairs is normally the better option. Our guide to selling a damp caravan explains why.
Do you buy accident-damaged caravans?
Yes. Caravans with accident or storm damage, broken windows, crushed corners or damaged chassis are bought as seen. Send photos of the damage on WhatsApp for an offer.
How old a caravan will you buy?
There is no age limit. We buy older caravans that other buyers and dealers turn away, as long as they can be safely collected.
Will you still collect a damaged caravan for free?
Yes. Collection is free. If the caravan can't be towed safely, tell us and we'll arrange the right way to move it.
